Stay Informed and Empowered
Our Resources page brings together materials that help explain and advance the work of the Headwaters of the Colorado Initiative. Here you’ll find highlights from recent stakeholder tours, interactive mapping tools developed with partners, and updates that showcase ongoing planning efforts across the landscape.
As our work progresses, this page will continue to grow to include additional reports, plain-language guides to technical concepts, and a developing project inventory to help partners and the public better understand where and how restoration efforts are taking shape.
Stakeholder Tour - September 2025
The Headwaters of Colorado (HoC) Stakeholder Tour offered participants a firsthand look at ongoing collaborative restoration efforts across the HoC geography. The day began with a morning presentation in Hahns Peak Village, featuring updates from Friends Of The Yampa on the Elk River Scorecard project, the U.S. Forest Service on tree replanting projects in Big Red Park, and an overview from HoC leadership on current progress and future direction. The group then toured a bridge and culvert restoration project led by Trout Unlimited on the Middle Fork of the Little Snake River, followed by an active logging operation with the Colorado State Forest Service, which highlighted the complexities of working across public and private lands. The tour concluded at Battle Mountain, Wyoming, where attendees observed ongoing mastication projects focused on improving forest health and reducing wildfire risk.
